SCAU Jointly Hosts the 2024 International Agricultural Technology Seminar with Peruvian Institutions

On September 10th, the “2024 Peru International Agricultural Technology Seminar,” co-organized by South China Agricultural University (SCAU) and the Universidad Ricardo Palma (URP) of Peru, was successfully held in Lima, the capital of Peru. President Xue Hongwei attended the event online and gave a speech.


Xue Hongwei expressed that SCAU highly values its cooperation with Peruvian universities. The university will continue to actively promote the exchange and cooperation in the agricultural science and technology field between China and Peru, contributing to the innovation of agricultural technology in both countries and to the building of a China-Peru community with a shared future.

Professors Li Jun from the College of Engineering, Lei Bingfu from the College of Materials and Energy, and Associate Professor Hu Wenfeng from the College of Food Science gave online presentations on topics such as “Smart Agricultural Machinery and Unmanned Farms,” “The Application of Nanotechnology in Plants,” and “Microorganisms Promoting Bioengineering Education,” sharing the university’s latest research achievements and advanced experience in the field of agricultural science and technology.

The seminar, with the theme “Seeds and the Future,” focused on China-Peru agricultural cooperation and discussed the future path of agricultural development. Its goal was to strengthen the exchange and cooperation between China and Peru in the agricultural science and technology field, jointly promote innovation in agricultural science and technology, and create a better future for the people of both countries.

This seminar is another important achievement in the cooperation between SCAU and Peruvian universities. In the future, within the framework of the CLAERIA, the university will further enhance its cooperation and exchange with Peruvian universities, making a greater contribution to the innovation and transformation of agricultural science and technology for both countries.
