From December 7th to 9th, the first World Chinese Language Conference was held in Beijing, hosted by the Ministry of Education and co-organized by Center for Language Education and Cooperation  (referred to as CLEC), the Chinese International Education Foundation, and the International Society for Chinese Language Teaching. Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the conference and delivered a keynote speech. Huai Jinpeng, Minister of Education and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, presided over the meeting.

Prof.Qiu Rongliang, vice president of SCAU, was invited to attend this conference and made a speech at the parallel forum Language Education Promotes University Cooperation and Student Exchange, introducing SCAU's cooperation in agricultural science and education with Latin America counterparts,especially the Chinese Language plus Agricultural Science and Technology Development Center . He said that in the future, under the guidance of CLEC, SCAU would work with Latin American partners to combine their respective advantages and characteristics, continuously integrate high-quality resources, actively expand channels for the promotion of Chinese education, innovate talent training models, and cultivate more comprehensive talents who master Chinese and agricultural skills. That is how SCAU contributes wisdom and solutions to the mutual learning between Chinese and Latin American civilizations.

In June 2022, SCAU signed contracts with the Autonomous University of Chapingo in Mexico and the Federal University of Mato Grosso in Brazil to establish the world's first batch of Chinese Language plus Agricultural Science and Technology Development Center (hereinafter referred to as the Center). The Center, which bridges Chinese education, Chinese farming civilization and modern agricultural technology together,has been enhancing cultural exchanges and agricultural cooperation between China and Latin America. For more than a year, Center has shared language teachers, and in September this year sent its first Chinese volunteer teacher at the Federal University of Mato Grosso in Brazil. This was also the first time that the State offered Chinese courses; through the organization of Chinese + Agricultural Culture Training classes, International Chinese Day and other activities, more and more Chinese + Agriculture courses have been offered to spread Chinese culture. As Center develops, the role and influence of Chinese + Agriculture has also been effectively enhanced.

World Chinese Language Conference Main Forum

It is reported that the theme of this conference is Chinese for the World, Openness into the Future, aiming to build consensus, deepen cooperation, and promote the high-quality innovative development of international Chinese education. Ministers of education and government department representatives from more than 160 countries and regions around the world, representatives of international organizations and cultural institutions, heads of local education authorities in China, presidents of Chinese and foreign universities, and directors of Confucius Institutes in total of more than 2,000 people participated.
