Recently, SCAU officially launched the Spanish-Chinese online course exchange program with Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Mexico. The courses began on March 7 with 5 Spanish classes for the 106 students and faculty at South China Agricultural University and 3 Chinese classes for 72 students at Universidad Autónoma Chapingo. This is the first time the two universities have offered Spanish and Chinese courses on campus.
The program has received strong support from the Undergraduate School and is included in the elective course system for students. School of Foreign Studies is responsible for the teaching management of Spanish courses, and College of Humanities and Law for Chinese teaching. At the opening ceremony, Minerva, Director of the Language Center at Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, and Ms. Yuan Juhua, Deputy Director of the International Office of SCAU encouraged the students to make full use of this opportunity, and to work hard to build up the bridge between China and Mexico, even China and Latin America for the academic and cultural exchange, and collaborative research.
This program is the first project between SCAU and UACH after the signing of the MOU within the framework of China-Latin America Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance, which will advance the preparation for the Chinese Language + Agricultural Science and Technology Development Center.
