LIU Guodao, male, born in Tengchong City of Yunnan Province of China in June 1963, is a professor and PhD supervisor. Currently, Prof. Liu is the vice president of Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences (CATAS). He received a doctorate degree in agriculture from South China University of Tropical Agriculture, majoring in crop cultivation and geoponics in 2007. He has engaged in tropical forage research for a long time, and has undertaken over 30 national and provincial projects, such as national scientific projects and international cooperation projects from Ministry of Science and Technology of China, projects from National Natural Science Fund of China, cross plan, personnel support program, scientific projects, agricultural capital construction projects and public sector research projects from Ministry of Agriculture of China, and agricultural research projects from International Agricultural Research Center. He has published over 200 papers including over 10 SCI papers, on New Phytologist, Annuals of Botany,The Rangeland Journal,Journal of Grass Industry, Journal of Grassland, Journal of Tropical Crops, etc.. Besides, Prof. Liu, as editor in chief, has published more than 10 monographs, such as Hainan Poaceae Grass Record, Hainan Cyperaceae Grass Record, Hainan Forage Floras, Science of Tropical Crop Germplasm Resources, Science of Tropical Forage Germplasm Resources, Science of Tropical Forage Seeds, Tropical Forage Plant Resources in China. He edited a textbook of Tropical Forage Cultivation Science, a set of Animal Husbandry Practical Technology in Southern China Agricultural Region (19 volumes), and a set of Practical Technology of Tropical Agriculture Going Global (16volumes). Prof. Liu, as the first or main contributor, has achieved more than 30 provincial and ministerial awards including the 1^st prize of agricultural science and technology award of China, award of agricultural science and technology team of China, science popularization award, the 1^st prize of science and technology progress in Hainan Province, the 1^st prize of science and technology achievement transformation in Hainan Province. Prof. Liu, as the first or the main contributor, has bred 23 cultivars of new forage varieties such as Reyan No. 4 King Grass, has been granted 5 national invention patents. Prof. Liu also holds concurrent posts as vice chairman of Chinese Grassland Society, deputy director of National Forage Cultivar Registration Committee of China, deputy director of National Tropical Crops Cultivar Registration Committee of China, chairman of Tropical Forage and Feed Professional Committee of Chinese Society for Tropical Crops. He is the outstanding contribution expert of Hainan Province, the special allowance expert of State Council of China. He was elected as a member of the National Outstanding Talents in New Century in 2004, Century Outstanding Talent of the Ministry of Education in 2003, with Outstanding Contribution Award of Oversea Talents in 1993, Science and Technology Award for Youth of Chinese Agriculture Association, National Advanced Worker of Agriculture Science and Technology in 2001, Science and Technology Awards for Youth from Hainan Province and Chinese government, and International Cooperation Contribution Award of Hainan Province in 2004, Outstanding Talent of Hainan Province in 2005, elected for the 515 Talent Project of Hainan Province in 2010, as national outstanding talent of agricultural scientific research and his team selected as innovation team of Tropical Forage Germplasm Innovation and Utilization of Ministry of Agriculture in 2012, with award of Agricultural Science and Technology Team of China in 2015.
