Organized by the Office of International Relations of South China Agricultural University (SCAU), the two-week Perception of China Activities for teachers and students from Ecuador Si Miao Wei Hua International School ended on May 4^th, 2023.

28 Ecuadorian teachers and students participated in the first-held International Chinese Language Day activities in SCAU and performed wonderful Chinese folk dance and chorus programs, adding Latin American flavor and international elements.

In the following days, the delegation went deeply into classrooms, practical bases, and school-run enterprises, learning traditional Chinese rural culture such as calligraphy, stamping, tea appreciation, and silkworm breeding, modern agricultural technologies such as modern agricultural machinery equipment and design, food packaging and processing, unmanned equipment and intelligent agriculture etc.. They also visited the exhibits of animation production, clothing design, film and television production works, and furniture design by our students on campus, which have effectively helped better understand the university advantages and characteristics in talents education in different fields.

An awarding ceremony was held upon the end of the course on May 4^th with one certificate for each participant. On behalf of the organizer, Prfo. Chen Letian, Director of International Relations of SCAU, made a congratory message to all participants and encouraged them to be the ambassordors of the friendship between China and Ecuador. And he extended his warm welcome to the students to study major at SCAU after their graduation from High School. Ms. Nelly Moreira Fanny, Director of Si Miao Wei Hua, expressed her sincere gratitude to SCAU for the well organzied activities. She believes that the exchange activity has far-reaching significance, and students have a more comprehensive and specific understanding of China through close contact with Chinese farming culture and modern agricultural technology. She hopes that both sides can continue to carry forward the friendship, strengthen the exchanges and cooperation, and bring with more cultural communication in the future. Student representative also expressed their impression on the academic and cultural atmosphere, and profound thanks  to SCAU for the efforts in making this study a great experience. Many of the students expressed their hope to continue the study here on campus in the future.

The friendship started from last October when the graduates students from the College of Horticulture, SCAU, conducted a three-month course on Fruit and Vegetable Technology for nearly 100 students from three Ecuadorian schools, including Si Miao Wei Hua International School. Recently, with the support of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation(CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China, one master student from the same college will execute the cooperation of fruit and vegetable by conducting some classes and the preparation work for the China-Latin America Fruit and Vegetable Production Technology Demonstration Park, which will actively promote the China-Ecuador agricultural technology and education cooperation in the years to come.
