INVITATION LETTER

Esteemed Rector/Dean/Professors,

On behalf of South China Agricultural University (SCAU), we sincerely invite your esteemed institutions to jointhe China-Latin America Agricultural Education and Research Innovation Alliance (abbreviated as “CLAERIA”) and to attend the first General Assembly to be held on May 18th 2021 (Beijing Time) / May 17th 2021 (Latin American time)on-line via Zoom. Attached please kindly find the Agenda for the meeting for your reference.

The Alliance “CLAERIA”, by upholding the spirit of peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, mutual benefits and win-win reciprocity, shall be committed to facilitating cooperation among members in talent cultivation, personnel training, scientific research, technical extension, cultural exchange and policy communication. The Alliance shall promote mutual benefits and seek common development in agricultural education and research in China and Latin America through the establishment of cooperation platforms, enhancement of cooperation mechanisms and boost of resources sharing.

Up to now 56 universities, academies, research institutes and enterprises from China and Latin American universities have joined this Alliance. Since the Inauguration Ceremony held in last December, with joint efforts and a solid objective to enhance agricultural cooperation between China and Latin America, the Alliance has made great progress to bring out a list of cooperation proposals, some of which are already in the process of implementation. We have every confidence that CLAERIA will open up a new chapter of China and Latin America agricultural cooperation in a wide range of fields, including academic exchange, research collaboration, technical training, cultural event and industrial cooperation.

We highlight the cooperation with your esteemed institution and we believe your participation in the Alliance will surely bring out positive outcome.
